In the reviewed monograph A.N. Savenkov “Nuremberg: A Verdict for Name of Peace” reproduces in detail and consistently the historical facts that preceded the outbreak of the Second World War, including in the light of the peace treaties following the First World War. It contains an in-depth study of the existing international legal norms that served as the basis for the formulation of the provisions of the Charter of the Nuremberg Tribunal and the motivation for its Verdict. The study of the peer-reviewed monograph allows us to draw an unambiguous conclusion, according to which the Verdict of the Nuremberg Tribunal became decisive for the further development of international criminal justice not only because of its exceptional historical significance, but also because its foundation was the norms and principles that were shared by all States participating in this process
